Owned and operated by women, Sugar Plum implements a global standard to our business that is beneficial socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable.
Sugaring is an ancient art, dating back to 1900BC. Sugar Plum is the first company to create a USDA Organic & Fair Trade Sugar Paste, made up of sugar, water, and citric acid from fermented mushrooms. One of the benefits of sugaring on a regular basis is that hair growth can noticeably decrease between four and eight visits.
Our sugaring technicians are committed to providing quality service. They are professionally trained and their goal is to give each guest the most comfortable experience possible.
We take pride in educating our guests on their beauty care choices, providing sugaring hair removal that supports people and the planet.

Camilla Fogle - Founder & Owner
Camilla has been working in the spa industry since 1996. She moved home to Washington State in 2000 and started working with natural skin care ingredients. This education taught her how to treat her own cystic acne. The transition to esthetics, in 2002, was an organic one, allowing her to combine her massage skills and love of holistic skin care. Camilla was named “Top Waxer in Seattle” by Allure in April 2005. Later that same year, she learned the art of Sugaring. Camilla used her years of thorough quick hair removal services to create Sugar Plum's proprietary speed sugaring techniques.
April - Director of Education
April loves being a sugar technician educator. Her favorite moment is when the light bulb goes on and her students realize that they can do this! Before starting with Sugar Plum in the summer of 2013, she had already spent twenty years in the beauty industry, and sixteen of those were as an educator. She was one of the first recognized master estheticians in the state of Washington and helped teach the first class accredited for master estheticians. What inspires her most about Sugar Plum, is the focus on changing women’s lives and empowering women to make decisions for their futures. In her opinion, this is best company she has ever worked for, exemplifying respect, integrity, and trust. What she enjoys most about sugaring is that it's clean and green. It’s kind to the skin and takes some talent to pull off. When not at Sugar Plum, she likes to grow things in her garden, create art, and be in the wilderness.
Roq - Director of Studio Operations
Roq is a lady of many accomplishments, graduating Valedictorian from Paroba College, honored with the title of one of Washington State's first Master Esthetician endorsements, and holding licenses in both Cosmetology and as a Master Educator. Her drive to be the best in the industry pushes her to excel in all her services. Most recently, Roq learned the art of Facial Planing and plans to bring it to the Sugar Plum team. For her, educating guests on how they can be their most beautiful selves is an integral component of providing the best beauty services available. When she's not at Sugar Plum, Roq spends her time with the dozen's of children she's raised as a long time foster parent. Her love for people shows in the many lives she's touched.
Justin - Sustainability & Operations Manager
Justin was drawn to Sugar Plum by its social and environmental mission to transform the spa industry through innovation in business structure, sustainability and vision. What he enjoys most about sugaring is how gentle it is on his skin, leaving no irritation or feelings of harshness. Utilizing his background with various sustainability organizations, Justin supports the business side of making Sugar Plum more sustainable. He has lived in a few areas of the country, growing up in D.C. and Virginia before making Seattle his new home, where nearly all of his free time is spent with his three-year-old twin daughters.
Jessica - Corporate Office Director
Jessica spent the past decade helping students fall in love with the beauty industry as the Director of Admissions at Paroba College and prior to that, The Greenwood Academy may it rest in peace--it’s now a bar, woohoo! Licensed since 2006 as a Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Educator at a college that taught Sugaring, she saw first hand the many benefits and how friendly it is to the planet. Jessica was drawn to Sugar Plum by the rave reviews of their employees, many that were graduates of hers. Jessica has always called the PNW her home. She spent many years in the local art scene as the co-founder and performer of a burlesque troupe. She now spends most of her time geeking out with her husband and two small minions. She finds zen in late night lap swimming and her underwater iPod, which has changed her life!

Amanda - Sugaring Technician
One of the first things you may notice about Amanda is her goofy personality and how easy it is to laugh with her. What you may not know is that this joy comes from her heartfelt desire to empower others to feel good about themselves. She brings this gentle and kind approach into everything she does, especially sugaring. While growing up in Alaska, Amanda always wanted to be in the beauty industry, following in her mother’s footsteps. She graduated from the Paroba College of Cosmetology, where she received hands-on esthetics training. Although you’ll typically see Amanda in her sugaring uniform, some of her hobbies are researching new fashion trends, makeup, exploring the outdoors, cooking, and photography. Next time you see Amanda, ask her about her “squirrel” or “dolphin” noise. Go on, try it! You’re guaranteed to laugh.
Breana - Sugaring Technician
Born and raised in Seattle, Breana’s passion and study of cosmetology began in high school. Even at the beginning, bringing honesty into the beauty industry was her guiding light. Sugar Plum and Breana were an instant match, pairing the company’s sustainable practices and all natural sugar paste with Breana’s commitment to products that are cruelty free, well-researched, and composed of high quality ingredients. Breana has worked professionally as a hairdresser, bridal makeup artist, special effects artist, tanning with airbrush, and as a waxer. In her free time, she enjoys checking out new restaurants and cooking with new ingredients. If you’re looking for some skincare education as an optional addition to your service, Breana is always learning new things that she’s open to share.
Rachel - Sugaring Technician
Makeup is what first called Rachel to the esthetics field. After touring the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in Capitol Hill, she was hooked, and immediately began learning with them to increase her skincare knowledge. What she enjoys most about sugaring is how gentle it is on the skin and how effective it is for hair removal. Her skin has always been extremely sensitive to wax, so when she found sugaring she was so happy! When Rachel is not sugaring, she’s spending time with her dog and two kitties, playing video games, and messing around with makeup!
Mary - Sugaring Technician
Mary is a Seattle native, licensed in Cosmetology from Paul Mitchell in 2014, a San Diego beauty school. At Sugar Plum, she feels empowered by the value of a personal care studio that is working towards zero waste, to lessen our impact on the environment and do better for the world we live in for ourselves and those after us. When Mary is not sugaring, she gardens, makes art, travels, and binges on HBO with her cats.

Nicole - Sugaring Technician
Nicole's expert sugaring services and wealth of beauty knowledge are unmatched by many estheticians in the industry. She began her beauty school education right out of high school in San Francisco at Zenzi’s Esthetics. In the 90s, her makeup artistry was sought after for photography shoots with dance theaters. Later, in 2000, she opened a boutique spa specializing in skincare where she learned and performed the art of Brazilian waxing. It wasn’t until 2009, when Nicole moved to Washington, that she discovered sugaring. Soon after, she received advanced training and certification with Sugar Plum and received her Master’s in Esthetics in 2014. Nicole combines her devotion to natural sugar with lifelong experiences into a treasure trove for Sugar Plum guests. With her bits of free time, she plays golf (a newfound love) and recently became a Licensed Medical Assistant.
Paige - Sugaring Technician
Paige is passionate about customer service and the Kirkland community. The beauty field has drawn her interest since middle school, where her enjoyment of removing ingrowns and doing extractions began. One of her biggest amusements is before and after pictures, especially hair removal, extreme make overs, and home renovations. In February 2017, she graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care as an Esthetician. Now she’s sharing her appreciation of people and sugaring hair removal at the Kirkland studio. When you go in to see her, ask her what her favorite dog is or if she’ll sing you a song!
Melissa - Sugaring Technician
Melissa considers herself a Rainbow Unicorn, spreading joy and happiness to those in her life. So that is exactly where her aesthetics career began, from her enjoyment of caring for people. This spurred her to study Aesthetics at Milan Institute in California, where she graduated in 2011. As an Esthetician, she has chosen sugaring as the best method of hair removal, as she values its benefits to the skin and environment over waxing. Besides WA, Melissa has lived in San Francisco, SoCal, Maui, and Las Vegas. When she’s not sugaring, her time is spent outdoors: hiking or running. If you are looking for an easy going Sugaring Technician who enjoys helping people, Melissa is the Sugarist for you!

On her days out of the studio, she is probably exploring a new restaurant or somewhere in the woods hiking with her roommates.
Ezgi - Sugaring Technician
For Ezgi, the fun of sugaring is the technique itself. In 2014, she was introduced to Sugar Plum. She purchased some of our sugar paste and started out practicing her sugaring skills with friends and family. Since she enjoyed it so much, she went to beauty school and obtained her Esthetician license with Paroba College to make sugaring her career. Through personal research to improve her own eczema, she’s found that natural ingredients have made a huge improvement in the health and beauty of her skin. Before making Seattle her home, Ezgi grew up in Turkey, Istanbul and moved over to America with her family at 14 years old. When she’s not sugaring, Ezgi’s favorite activity is spending time with her daughter. She engages in a variety of interests, including interior design, dancing, going to art and music events, astrology, and self improvement. Her priority in life is peace, relating to people with a calm and comfortable presence.

One day, Moira hopes to have a thriving garden, a sphynx cat named Lilah, and a window seat in which to write their poetry.

Jam - Sugaring Technician
Jam is nonbinary and so happy to increase inclusivity by pouring their heart and soul into serving trans folx more effectively within the spa industry. Sugaring is what first drew Jam to the beauty industry, once they joyfully discovered that sugar paste had better results than wax for their texture of hair. They are from Bellingham and graduated with a degree in Esthetics from the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in 2017. When Jam isn’t busy sugaring, they use magickal witch powers to create time for belly dancing, fire dancing, herbalism, community building, and sweet tattoos.

Rose - Receptionist
For Rose, it is important to exceed expectations in work ethic and teamwork. With Sugar Plum, she has integrated herself within our friendly and supportive administrative team and quickly become part of our community. She has indulged in sugaring hair removal for years, and strongly prefers it to waxing because it is all natural, doesn’t pull her skin, and is a nice exfoliant. Her hardworking nature extends beyond the workplace, as she keeps busy with a regular workout routine and pushes herself for a healthier lifestyle. When she takes some time to herself, she is out exploring more of Washington, enjoying great hiking areas, or comfortably relaxing with her loveable dog, Hydra. Her friendly voice is ready to greet you when you call Sugar Plum and to help make your sugaring experience simple and sweet!
Rachel - Receptionist
Rachel is a lover of all animals (especially cats), people, and the planet! The mission of Sugar Plum of inclusivity, LGBT+ activism, and sustainability all ring true for her.
